In our general life, most people turn down the importance of alkaline food. The importance of alkaline food is not even believed by many traditional doctors. Dangerous diseases like low energy, stress, cold, weak nails, headaches, muscle pains and other are due to acidic effect in our body and it also disturb almost every system of the body. The minerals become unavailable in our body as their storage is blocked due to excess of acidity in our body.

To get the good alkaline diet, you should have a proper knowledge about the products having alkaline in them, and also the amount you should use to keep you body in good balanced condition. Here are the some important facts about the alkaline foods and their percentage. This information could be regarded as the food chart to acquire alkaline food.

There is a long list of fruits which are alkaline in nature. Talking about more common you can get apple, apricot, speckled bananas, Watermelons, Tomatoes, Melons of all kind, Grapefruits, Guavas, Coconut, Dates, Cherries, Pomegranates, Olives, Oranges and Papaya, Pears, Mangoes, Loquats and limes. Sugared, dried, preserved and canned fruits should be consumed by the people having acidic problems. Some fruits having benzoic acid and oxalic acids are sour cherries, plums, prunes, and cranberries.

Some vegetables that can be used as a source of alkaline foods are bamboo shoot, barley grass, Celery, Chicory, Carrots, Broccoli, Cauliflower, Garlic, Ginger, Peeper, Peas, Potatoes, Okra, Onions, Mustard Green, Most varieties of Mushrooms, Spinach, Alfalfa, Cowslip, Dulce, Edible Flower, Cabbage, Sea vegetables, wheat grass and some others. On the other hand, acidic vegetables are dried beans, Corn, Asparagus, Lentils and Garbanzos. You should avoid these acidic vegetables if you have acidic problem.

Maitake, Daikon, Dandelion root, Shitake, Kombu, Nori, Umeboshi, Wakame and Reishi are some oriental vegetables that are alkaline in nature. Some other sources like almond, Chestnuts, Millet, Tofu, Tamari, sea salt or table salt, and protein powder are alkaline in nature along with vegetables and fruits. Also there are some minerals which are alkaline in nature and in medical terms, they are also very important for the proper growth and functioning of the body. Calcium with pH 12, Potassium with pH 14, Sodium having pH 12 and Magnesium with pH 9 are included in these minerals.

Cigarettes, Wheat cream, Pickles, Corn bread, Cereals, Corn flakes and other such things should be avoided as they have a very low pH, around 6 to 6.5, and cause disturbance in your acid-alkaline balance of the body.
