Toilet is good to use until the water and waste get properly flushed away. In case it start backing up then it is very irritating and in such situations you should turn off the shut off valve of the toilet. You can find this valve under the toilet tank. Now with the help of a plunger clear the clog.
Toilet tanks also have a tendency to sweat during the summer months due to hot, humid air coming in contact with a toilet tank filled with cold water. To eliminate a sweating toilet you can install insulating rubber or foam material inside the tank to prevent this problem.
Occasionally the toilet wax ring underneath the toilet can also fail, causing water to pool around the toilet or even cause a drain leak that potentially shows up on a lower level ceiling. If this occurs, the toilet needs to be removed and a new toilet wax ring is required to be installed.
A toilet keeps on running when the float arm does not raise high enough to turn off the inlet valve inside the toilet. Sometimes this happens due to the float ball filling with water or when the inlet valve stopper does not shut off properly. When this situation occurs, check the float ball and the inlet valve assembly. Both can easily be replaced and these parts can be found at any home improvement store.
In case a high pitch noise comes out when the toilet tank is filling with water then there are chances that there is a blockage in the supply line. To get out of this blockage problem turn off the toilet supply valve and detach the supply line hose. Find out any blockages in the valve area that is constricting the flow of water. You may need to replace the supply line hose if it is crimped.
In case your toilet flapper is not able to rise up far enough or could not stay up long enough then it will create problem in flushing of toilet waste and water.
To tackle this problem, remove the cover of the toilet tank and check out the functioning of the toilet lever arm. Ensure that it is able to pull up the toilet flapper high enough and long enough to let the sufficient amount of the toilet tank water to enter into the toilet bowl.
